Bolton Birch’s service initiates solar gain

31 July, 2024

As part of Bolton Birch’s property management service we often advise on energy issues for commercial property. We have introduced solar power opportunities to several clients where we can balance costs and show a positive difference on finances, selling options and social and environmental factors.

One such client is Hapgood Developments who own, within their larger portfolio, The Quadrant a 30,000 Sq Ft office complex on Sealand Road in Chester.  Having worked recently with Oakwood Energy, a family-led local business, we brought both parties together resulting in the investment of 104 solar panel installation on the roof.

Ian Hapgood of Hapgood Developments said; “We hadn’t really considered a solar installation at The Quadrant until our managing agents Bolton Birch explained the benefits. They put us in contact with Oakwood Energy allowing us to discuss the options available and costs before agreeing on a final specification. So impressed by the benefits of the installation and by Oakwood, we have commissioned further, similar projects at other sites.”

Martin Dodd, Director at Bolton Birch added; “The introduction of solar panels at The Quadrant will result in the reduction of 13.33 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, the equivalent of planting 612 trees.”

He continued; “Government tax incentives are possible to offset the installation cost for renewable energy alternatives, resulting in a return on investment within 4 to 5 years.”

Installation of Solar panels on commercial buildings can be a smart investment that can save businesses money on energy costs whilst reducing carbon footprints and enhancing your company’s reputation as a socially responsible and environmentally conscious organisation.”

“Commercial buildings with consumption primarily during daylight hours will benefit enormously from the generation of electricity from solar. Solar panels can also increase the value of your property and attract environmentally conscious tenants committed to sustainability.”

In summary, investing in solar panels or other alternative energy options for your commercial building is a smart decision to help save money, attract more customers and contribute to a cleaner, greener planet.
